History
In the fifties Livingston started in Europe as a wholesaling company for test equipment of American manufacturers, mainly in the area of defence and communication systems. The concept convinced the market and ? starting in the sixties ? the test equipment was also available for rental.
In the seventies the company expanded all over Europe. At the same time equipment distribution and services were extended to include calibration, disposal and asset management services.
Already in that decade, Livingston began to integrate computer systems into the product range and in the eighties this equipment was also available for rental.
In 1985 Livingston was taken over by the Brammer Group, but 9 years later this affiliation was broken and the name of the group from then was Livingston Group Ltd.
The growing relevance of services and the independence from individual manufacturers, as well as the high quality of services in all corporate divisions, served to turn Livingston into Europe?s branch leader.
In March 2004, Livingston experienced a management buy out, and the business invested heavily in new technology. Livingston are now Europes Number One in Test Equipment and IT Rental.
